Hi, I just picked up an MM mkII and I love it already (tat SID sound goes straight in to my heart).
On the MM I can have a separate KIT of sounds for every pattern which is really awesome and I love it. So my question is if there is such feature on the OT and A4? Or do I have to manually select another sample/sound per trig to not change the sound of previous patterns?
I hope this is present on the OT and A4 as well and I have yet to discover it!
Although you can’t have kits that work across multiple projects like in the MnM, take a look at “Parts”. I use them a lot like kits. Honestly though, once you get into the OT you may discover that kits aren’t really needed.
Thank you for the quick response!
Yes, parts does look to be similar.
My goal is to be able to kind of program a series of songs with song arranger and between the songs i would like to have different [KIT’S] loaded for each song in each machine (MM, A4, OT).
The reason I want this is because i use the OT for drums and glitches etc and I would like to use different ones for each song. Am I demanding to much of the dear OT?
Thank you for the quick response!

You are just scratching the surface and heading in the right direction. Take your time and find the workflow that fits your scope of work.

Thank you kind sir. I will continue pressing buttons and see what happens
OMG.I just realised that every pattern can have different setups for each track with machines and loaded samples etc. :mind blown:
This more then solves my problem
Reading you posts, it feels like to just get the MM, OT and A4 at the same time ? Wow, good for you ! have fun !
If you’re new to elektron machines, i hope you know the P-Lock feature. If not, you will be amazed once more. This is maybe my favorite feature.
Yes, P-Locks is one of the reasons i got ‘bitten’ to start with. I am kind of new to elektrons (and music making in general) but it felt right from the start.
It all started with the A4, then I traded in a Virus and a TR-8 to get the OT and MM. Feels so good and I rarely use my computer now (which is a great goal by it self).
I realise that I have quite some learning ahead of me and I’m looking forward to it! And really, learning several elektrons at the same time has it’s benefits since they are quite similar.
Also, any tips are welcome!
