I gave a MKII a go at my local shop. I couldn’t for the life of me get any variety in velocity response via the pads: light taps responded the same as heavier ones. I checked Sound settings for something but didn’t see anything.
Can someone with an MKII confirm they get different velocities with different tap pressures?
You may already know this but there is a button(FIX) that when active locks the velocity value for the pads. If it’s lit up red then it is on and would be the source of your problem. Otherwise the compressor might be at a setting where it boosts the softer hits and compresses the harder ones enough that you don’t hear a difference between them.
I personally can’t think of any other reasons but if it’s not working than it is a defective unit—my unit responds very well to different hits. Maybe someone else has any other ideas!
Ah. Maybe that was it. I didn’t know that. Is that setting saved per kit or pattern or…?
Ok cool. But just to confirm that the light taps produce a light sound and heavier taps louder sounds? Not just responds at all the same volume?

Yes. That’s exactly it. You can see Cuckoo turn on the fix right at the beginning whereas before it responded differently. Ill check that next time. Thanks.
