Mk2 sample workflow

Its been a while! Just picked myself up a new MK2. Also excuse me if theres a thread covering this, done a search here and on google and couldn’t find so here I am.

Looking to sample all my gear in to it and was wondering before I really start, does anyone have any reccomendations/workflows of how to get a real decent sound? Of course it’s all mono but i’m under the impression that if you start with a good sample in the first place you’ll never need to use the individual outs thus leaving the master FX available for that stereo sound.

I had a go earlier but things were sounding flat and fairly muddy, should I forget sampling straight in to the inputs and record in to ableton and EQ from there then transfer over to the RYTM? (Seems like a shite process) Or does anyone have a work around where I can EQ the sound how i want it using my desk’s EQ then record that sound direct in to the inputs? (Cant seem to get my head around this)

Any insight would be cool before I start my journey! Also anything else you guys do, that helps you. Id like to know.

Cheers
