MK1 for 380EUR vs Mk2

Ive got a good deal on a mk1 for about 380EUR. You think its worth the upgrade of the Mk2 with that good price?

It totally is up to you.
You can easily find out the specs of both machines, and the price too.

Nobody can tell you what you want.

(I would buy DT2 and did, because I sensed the eol of DT1 and sold that for good, and wanted that beefed up trackcount, stereo, stepcount & co)

Price seems great, you might check if that’s a scam. If not, just buy it and see if you’re missing DT II stuff. You’ll be able to sell it again for 380€.

I don’t know how important MK II features are for you, but you might talk yourself into OG by reading this thread:

if you want to learn a device through and through, i would suggest taking the deal. if its not a scam. there are many scams with elektron devices on kleinanzeigen so be aware.

the dt1 is a finished product. so, no fear of missing out on any updates. you have to take it for what it is. learn it. master it. no problems with recent or future bugs can set you free.

but if you need stereo…

it really depends on your workflow. i have a dt1 and will not get rid of it when i get the dt2. but i will use each for different things.

A MKI for that price is a fine deal. Just watch a few of the many inspiring Digitakt videos that were made over the last few years, and consider that it’ll always be able to do all those things, and more.

I’d take a bargain MKII without too much persuading, but I also think there’s a whiff of “sampler arms race” about it. The OG remains a thing of beauty and as such a joy forever.
