Mixing Electronic Music / Isotope Neutron

Nauts!

I started to use Ozone 10 a while ago for mastering purposes.

May I ask - Do you use any plugins for mixing purposes - or do you have any experiences with Izotope Neutron (or other plugins?)

Currently, I am just fiddling around the volumes of each track manually in Logic.
A process which is pretty annoying and cumbersome to me.

Most YT examples do not focus on electronic music - so I was wondering how well this might work out.

Thanks for your help!

It’s a nice suite off tools that are very useful for mixing any style of music.

I do not use the mix assistant, i learned how to mix instead :man_shrugging: and use the iZotope plugins along with a bunch of other plugins :+1:

I really recommend this channel. On this playlist he’s using only iZotope plugins to mix s techno track:

Yes… I use the Isotope Production Suite, Ozone, Neutron and others of the suite … IMO handling and sound are pro-level, the various templates are nice, but I recommend to learn mixing basics and get experienced.

That’s only one part of the mixing process, frequency range definition (filters), dynamics, frequency dependent filters/compression tools are as important as well.

IMO a good sound mix is not depending on genre. There are different genre specific preferences, but the basics are always the same. With pro-mixing/mastering tools like Isotope’s you can achieve pro-results if you know your tools.

At the end you have to trust your preferences and your ears.

BTW Isotope is offering “Insight” and “Tonal Balance Control”, which help to compare and fit to genre specific standards.
