If anyone here is a member of Mix With The Masters (an amazing educational resource, for those curious) a song I wrote, recorded and produced was chosen in a competition and is going to be mixed by the legendary Tony Hoffer next Tuesday March 10 at 1pm EST.
Hoffer has mixed albums by people like Beck, Air, Phoenix, Belle & Sebastian, M83, The Kooks, Goldfrapp, Ladyhawke, and many many more.
To say I’m excited is an understatement! I’m also just very curious what he is going to do to the mix. My original mix that I submitted is below if you’d like to hear the song. This was recorded back in 2023 in Ableton Live 11 using mostly Arturia synths, NI Battery drums, and Soundtoys, Valhalla, and Plugin Alliance plugins. The song itself dates back over ten years ago!
Hope some of you will be able to tune in as well.

It really is an invaluable resource if you want to learn production, mixing and mastering directly from engineers who have worked on huge tracks. I’ve learned a ton from their content.

Oh I was a subscriber for two years then stopped eventually it boils down to practicing what you’ve learned on your own projects. I’m not trying to shill for them but if you start out you can watch the intro level videos then follow along on mixdown projects they make you watch.

The single Tony mixed is now out if anyone is curious to hear it. Fun to hear a ten year old song mixed by someone I really like. Sometimes things in the vault do see the light of day!
