I got a track !!

I did’t use any Scene or Performance for this track, cause my hands were used to switch from a pattern to another.
No FX, even the panning has disappeared in the recording process, I am very sad of this.

I am not completely sure about the oscillator thing.
Only 2 tracks were used, 1 being the kick BD1, the 2nd being the snare SD2.
The third track is the noise on the snare.
I think I read somewhere BDHD machines had two oscillators, but I haven’t found where I could deactivate one of them.
Please Holy Pixel Monk tell me it’s OK.
(But I’ll redo it if I have to )

Anyway, I am very glad I could make it on time.
Rytm is loads of fun, a lot quicker more intuitive than OT, I am very glad I got it.

I’ll extract some sysex thing in the next few days…

I’ll try something over the weekend. Does it need to sound like it’s from a game, or just sound like a chiptune? ie. can I make a techno track?

I think I might have to go crazy with plocks on this one…

And to pselodux: No, it doesnt need to sound like a video game. I just assumed that when using just three oscillators and “no fx”, it would automatically sound retro-game-ish.

Oh wow, I was about to say how sad I was to have missed this, but I still have a couple of days. I should be working on a show I’m playing on tuesday, but this sounds like more fun, and a more productive dark playground than my usual distractions.

Mine is mono as well, Lying Dalai. I assumed the old SID tunes were mono, so in the spirit of the contest I didn’t pan anything.

Ah, the sysex. Almost forgot about that. I’ll upload it tonight.

And thanks for the compliments. Not much fancy stuff going on actually. Simple sounds, but with lots of p-locks and trigs all over the place to make it less static. I think it got messy and a bit annoying to listen to, personally, but I didn’t have time for another attempt.

I like yours a lot, btw. Very different from my approach, and an excellent example of how less can often be more.

I had to check out Ratatat, btw. The Elektron boxes should excel at that kind of music. Very inspiring.

A name this album deserves.
Glad you liked my sound.
I always feel like a newbie while listening to tracks produced here.
Mine feels always raw, amateurish in comparison.
But I like to think that it’s my sound and no one else’s…

I also have to drop the sysex, even if I’m not sure it’s very interesting because I mainly choked patterns one against the others

BTW : I regret that your track doesn’t even last a minute, @Abhoth : I think the sound is reaaaally great, I wish you would push it and throw one idea a pattern until you’re dry ! Then mix all this together…

What’s your weapon meant : what was the toy you used to craft this piece of music ?

Finally got myself a Blofeld to get puppetted by the OT. Loads of fun to come, I’ll dive in the synthesis at least.
And this puts the GAS away, let’s wait for Christmas

I have trouble to extract the sysex thing, I push on “send” on the AR side, “receive” on the C6 side, I actually see that data are incoming, but no file is shown on C6 file list.
