Another routing question forgive me; i think I’m close to fixing it but unsure if it works the way I’m thinking it should.
So I got:
DT out to XD in
Keystep out to DT in
I can play the XD via Midi track A; and record my notes.
But I cannot record the minilogue via its own Keybed, or record its automation.
I want to sample the XD; which works great, but also play them in sync to use the XD’s motion mode for sequences. How do i get to sync their play?
You have not stated whether you have connected your Minilogue XD MIDI Out to anything.
You could connect it to the KS MIDI In, set Local SW to “Off”, and set the KS to pass through MIDI Note messages to its MIDI Out port so that they would reach the DT.
However the DT will probably not record any MIDI CC messages for automation, unless the MXD’s MIDI CC allocations happen to match those of the DT listed in the table for “VAL PARAMETERS” on page 77 of its manual.
Synchronization of play usually requires use of MIDI clock and transport messages.
If you want to use the KS as the sync controller then you can set the DT to both receive and transmit MIDI clock and transport messages and set the MXD to receive them.
If you want the DT to be the sync controller then you can set it to send MIDI clock and transport messages and set the MXD to receive them. If you want the KS to be synced then you would also set the MXD to send MIDI clock and transport messages and set the KS to receive them.
Nice thanks for the elaborate response!
Yeah so with the last part you mean that I should access the CC values from.the XD manual into the Digitakt. I’ll save that as a template!
Tested, works like a charm. Im keeping local SW on; works better and not getting any issues.
Got track A of the DT set to channel 10, the channel the logue is using. DT autochannel is 11 so i can play keystep while changing tracks.
Next up is mapping CC value. Hoping that midi pages are saved in the project so i can make a template.
Havent finished the manual yet but Keysteps features like Hold arent working.
