Minimal Techno

I’m used to listen music at work (working alone, repetitive tasks) and I recently discovered minimal techno with Robert Hood. I enjoyed this hypnotic minimal tracks a lot, it help me to achieve repetitive tasks without being bored but keeping it focused on my work, not being distracted by big drop or ear fatigue after an hour or two with too much energy like in drum n bass or edm.

I’m very new to this music, do you have suggestions to listen in the same flavor of hypnotic minimal techno that don’t hit hard ?

My own favorite is Rrose

The following release was done with analog computers.
It’s one of my favorites album of @pokk’s label SM-LL:

Check the rest of the label back catalog, it’s very interesting!

If you want to push towards experimental, check everything Raster / Noton

Alva Noto (aka Carsten Nicola, Noton label co-founder) pushes sound pretty far.

Heoliene (aka Deuver/Osa Uvein) also pushes in such territories:

In a similar vibe as minimal techno, you might want to check dub techno if you haven’t already:

The following website (treated by Datassette) is a rabbit hole you might want to fall into. Not strictly minimal techno, but doors towards simingly interesting music…

Yeah go for Rrose !

I’d suggest Minilogue of course, especially the remixes and lasts EPs they released right before they split, very long tracks

You can’t go wrong with this one. Terrence Dixon is the real deal.

Thanks for suggestions, can’t wait to go back at work to listen everything

An additional suggestion. Stone cold classic.

Not sure if it’s minimal, but Planetary Assault Systems is really nice to listen to while working.

For minimal techno, few can match Robert Hood.

Check early Thomas Brinkmann stuff on Profan and Max Ernst, masterclass in minimal techno:

Also Stabiles album by Stewart Walker is amazing:

Not an expert on the genre in any way, but when someone says ‘minimal’, I always hear this one in the back of my head.

And great recommendations in this thread already!

I slept on Terrence Dixon way too long. Definitely up there with Robert Hood. For me personally even a bit higher.

Minimal techno for me was always exemplified by Monolake

Lovely thread! There is a housy side to minimal too but I guess a lot of the airy synths are missing.

There are also some with breaks that still feel minimal.
