Midi trouble with a Reface

Hi all,

I am having trouble using my Yamaha Reface DX with the Digitakt. I want to use the DX to create midi tracks on the DT. I have the midi output of the DX connected to the Midi input of the DT. I have the midi track on the DT set to the same channel as the DX. When I play notes on the DX, the trig button on the DT lights up, yet there is no sound. When I go into chromatic mode to play on the DT there is no sound. When I write in notes on the sequencer and play them back there is no sound.

Perhaps I am missing something obvious. Any help is greatly appreciated.

From your description it sounds like you are using/recording to a MIDI track on the Digitakt which produces no sound itself but is used to control external devices (you need to connect the MIDI out of the DT to some other device).

When you want the Digitakt to produce sound you need to use an audio track.
