MIDI Track Mute via MIDI

hi there!

does anyone know how to mute the octatracks MIDI-Tracks with a external midicontroller (in this case the UC33)?

Track mutes work (1-8), but I cant figure out how to mute the MIDI-Tracks…

anyone?

I have not tried it myself but codes for doing this using MIDI CC messages are given on page C-2 of the manual. Did you try that?

thanks!

I first read in the manual. And yes there is it.
In the MIDI Mode Mapping, CC message 49(dec) Midi Trk Mute (0=Unmuted, 1-127=Muted). Same as the Track Mute, but another midi channel.

Like i wrote in my post, the Track Mute (CTRL-Change Mapping) works. They run on midi channel 1-8.

And i guess in the Midi Mode Track 1 should be Midi Channel 9, am I right?

MIDI track mutes are CC# 112-119 (on the auto channel, iirc). Works fine in my setup.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I’m scratching my head about exactly this at the moment.
I can not simply get this to work with the Auto Channel as @NRain describes it above…

The thing is that I can get it to work with all Audio tracks midi channels 1-8, but not with my my Auto Channel 9.

Has the midi implementation changed from when this thread was active? Anyone know what’s going on in my case?

Yeah the auto-channel doesn’t work for this.

But it seems you can send the MIDI Mute CC’s to any of the Trig Channels (i.e. 1-8). Works for me.

Great, thanks for checking! The previous poster did write iirc, so I guess there was uncertainty there as well.
Interesting implementation I must say. Or maybe that it uses the audio track channels is not at least mentioned in the manual.
