Midi Timing - trying to sync pressing play on DAW to play on A4

Im trying to build a track up in a DAW - be it Reason or Logic or Ableton.

So i recorded a nice drum track with the 4 channels and recorded to audio.

Now I want to record some more tracks over the top but I want my replayed audio to be time synced with the analog four when I press play.

Does anyone know of a way to get the analog four to start pattern play back when I press play on the DAW?

Set Clock and Transport receive to yes in Global / MIDI Config / MIDI Sync. Then send MIDI clock from your DAW.

ive selected clock send and pressing stop doesnt stop the pattern, neither does pressing play on Reason restart the pattern. Any other ideas? neither is it reading the tempo. argh

just got it thanks - although the tempo is fluctuating between 127.8 and 128.2 strangely?

Yeah I see micro fluctuations in the display like that too. I think it’s normal when the A4 is slaved like that.

Does the timing sound OK?

The tempo display fluctuating is normal, and is NOT an indication of jitter. This has been stated by Elektron multiple times before, on the old forums. It’s just a result of the engine calculating and approximating the incoming tempo, and does not mean that said incoming tempo is varying by that much.
