So I recently got a Minibrute, and of course want to get it all MIDIed up with my OT. No problem sending notes back and forth, but I can’t figure out how to get aftertouch to work properly in both directions. I first noticed that using AT on filter cutoff was very noisy and crackly when I had it setup to send and receive MIDI.

I believe this is because it’s getting AT signals from the keyboard and the OT. If I disconnect MIDI in or block the AT signal through my MIDI interface, it responds normally, but then I obviously lose the ability to receive AT from the OT. This happens with every combination of autochannel and CC direct connect settings I tried, even when all MIDI tracks are muted.

Is there anything I’m missing, or am I just out of luck since the MB doesn’t have a way to turn local control off?

Arturia is working on an update to add local off which is supposed to be out sometime next month. I get around this by recording into the midi track with the midi channel turned off, turning it on after to avoid feedback.

Sorry to hear of your problems, but the local off update is a great piece of news, i have always wanted to own a MB but I use Midi Pals to play in scales etc that I am not a master of , the local off would allow me to send midi notes from the midi out , to the midipal for processing and then back to the MB…this makes me a very happy guy !!!

you should be ok with that pal setup, since you can set send and receive to different channels on the MB. I have no problems with notes to and from the OT, just AT. also mod wheel doesn’t really work right either, since its position on the MB overrides the CC from the OT.

anyway, that update is great news, thanks for the info. I was stoked to find out that you could record AT on the OT. I know it’s going to be kind of a wonky parameter to record given the step resolution for plocks, but that can just be part of the fun…
