Midi sync Q

I’m looking at the midi/cc chart and not seeing what I would use for pattern start and stop. Also, how would I change patterns? With program change?
And, if I’m going to set up the filter cutoff and res, I`ll need to do it per channel, right? bc each pad is on a different channel…?

I’m planning on setting up my padkontrol and can probably work through most of this in a night but if anybody could give me some pointers or ideas, that would be great!

Pattern start stop is only possible via MIDI clock? Enable midi clock and transport sync if you want to keep the 1s aligned. Pattern changes can be made with prog chng messsages, but you need to enable this in the ARs global settings. Also heard that remote pattern switching has “issues” atm, hope future updates will make it work better. It’s also possible to use the AR as a remote MIDI drum module by keeping patterns blank and only setting the desired kit to a specific pattern, which will make the prog chng to only change the kits…

Each channel has its own MIDI channel for track-specific parameters, so you need to be able to multiplex your MIDI CC/NRPN control data to all the channels you need controlled. The Strom app has a ctrl-al function for setting params simultaneously for many channels, so it should work ok.

Yes, unless it’s more appropriate for you to send messages from your controller on the AR’s Auto Channel, in which case the MIDI messages that you send should only affected the currently active track on the AR.

EThanks yall. I can set the parameter on the x-y pad per button according to the manual. Which will work for filter. After I test it I’ll post how it worked

I’m sad to see that I can not start and stop the pattern with a midi cc though. I was going to use that feature as a hot cue after slamming one shots.

If you are using a computer with your padcontroller, you could come up with a way to change ccs to program changes quite easily. if not, then I’m afraid your options look rather slim. No idea if something like a midipal would be able to do it? Would be quite easy to do in theory…
