I’m not having a great time getting my OT and modular to sync and I get the same issues with my Digitone but not a Beatstep Pro.
I’m squirting the midi into a uMidi module and then feeding clock and run trigs into a Pam’s new workout. If I take a quarter-note clock out of Pams to trigger a kick drum module and have a kick drum playing on the OT about 30% of the time the start command seems to be delayed and the drums flam horribly. I would say that when it’s ‘right’ that there’s a little delay but it’s just about acceptable.
So the issue here is the unreliability of the timing of the start pulse with respect to the clock. It seems like the Elektron boxes don’t ensure that the pulse is fired synchronously with the clock (which constantly runs even when they are stopped).
As I say - the Beatstep Pro doesn’t exhibit this behaviour - midi clock reliably ensures that triggers from Pams are sync’d with triggers from the Beatstep.
Has anyone else experienced this and found a fix? I’m on the latest firmware all-round.
