Midi split question

I want to buy a livid code, to optimize controll of my A4
For this, I want to use both input and output of my A4

My AR and AH are part of my setup, also midi synced.

But… to connect my A4 and the Code, I need both input and output. (attachement shows midi connections)
There is only a through I can use

Do I have to buy a splitter?
What is a good splitter?
How does it work?
Can I do this without a computer?

Seems you could use a merger, like this one:

to merge the outputs from the Livid and Ar into the A4. The AH could then get sync from the A4 through port. (If i get your drawing right).
The merger requires no psu nor batteries. I use it for hooking a midikeyboard to the A4 with the AR as master.
