Hi there!
I know that the midi sequencers (for external gear) of octa and A4 are limited to 4 voices. Is this also true for the digi’s? (digitakt/digitone)?
Thanks!

Digitone has 8 note polyphony
interesting…
it seems like the other devices should be able to do this too theoretically, why did they choose not to give this to the octatrack for instance? even the name implies the number 8
for midi tracks? i don’t own the DN, only the DT which has 4 note poly for midi tracks, same as AK
It’s 8 for midi as well
so you can p-lock 8 notes to a midi track’s step?
Yep, can do nice jazzy chords for my novation peak
nice! didn’t know this. so DN is the only Elektron machine that has 8 rather than 4 notes?
exactly, so it seems, and I find it strange and disappointing that the octa doesn’t support this at that pricepoint
Digitone came many years after OT… Two midi tracks on the same midi channel would give you eight notes on Octa, though (and double the possible midi CC control)
Eight midi tracks on OT.

Yeah it’s the only one and can edit them better than the others with the note menu… the best for polyphony for sure
so half the midi tracks of the DT but twice the poly per track, cool. makes sense given the synth side of it.
perhaps. oh well, don’t make jazz anyways ;-). 4 will do, and otherwise I have the NDLR
