Is it possible on the OTs Midi Sequencer to change/lock Programme Changes per step or at least per pattern?

no, just per part
Poo!
Thanks.
this is something i really would like to see
i worked around it by sending bank change via #CC (and arranging my patches accordingly - obviously takes you only so far)
Sorry to thread hijack (figured it had the same title I was gonna use lol). My OT just started sending program changes to my MnM that follow the OT. It wasn’t doing this before unless specified in the midi setup page of the midi sequencer (which is how I usully do it) but today its started following the pattern changes of the OT. So if I change to pattern B02 the MnM jumps to B02 but then later on recieves the program change from the sequencer and reverts to C05.
Any ideas whats going on?
Nedavine,
OT can send PGM changes per pattern, also per Part from the MIDI tracks.
May be you have both active?
Thanks gbravetti. Where in the settings is it ?
Edit the PGM in midi sync settings?
Per Pattern Program Change is in:
MIDI/SYNC, PROG CH, SEND
Per track Program Change is in:
While in MIDI sequencer press FUNCTION+Playback (MIDI NOTE SETUP PAGE)
BANK (program change bank) and PROG (program change)
EDIT: Must be off if you don’t want this track to send program changes
Is there a way to get the pattern change to trigger before the end if the pattern? So I’m switching from C02 to C01 on the OT and on the the A4 I want it to switch from E04 to E03 but it’s only sending the program change after the OT has changed pattern so the A4 is 64 steps behind.
I’m a little confused.
Noisebuddy says you can’t change programme per pattern but gbravetti implies you can.
But i can’t change programmes when switching patterns.
If i simply have 2 patterns A01 & A02, changing a programme number on A01 automatically changes the programme number on A02 to the same thing.
Everything’s checked correctly in Project > Midi > Sync.
Not with “per pattern” program change.
EDIT: When you use per pattern program change, program change is sent about two steps before the pattern actually changes.
Per pattern program change is fixed to patterns: A1 - prg ch 1, A2 prg ch2, etc etc.
When activated it will send a program change through your OT MIDI OUT.
Parts allows you transmitting a PC (for each part) within the same MIDI track. Change part, new PC number to be transmitted can be set. Any pattern are always connected to a part.
8 MIDI tracks (= 8 PC) * 4 parts.
Above can be found on page 113 in manual.
However, on page 42. In MIDI/Sync menu you´re able to activate PC transmission upon every pattern change. However, it doesn´t reveal that it is correlated to the pattern number itself (converted into PC), but a quick look with monitor input with MIDI OX does acknowledge that.
The channel it could be sent on is described on same page…
Monomachine will happily do that for you though
Ok, i’ve got Programmes to change per pattern. I had to switch off Auto Channel in Midi > Channels. But now i can’t play notes via midi keyboard.
Edit: Sorting this out is a nightmare. The Ot works, then it doesn’t, then it does. It’s all over the place. Empty reset i think.
You can choose any other channel than Auto though.
Besides that you´re able to select different channel for receiving PC than transmitting PC, as well.
I love how the MnM allows for PC parameter locks per step - used to be insanely good with an Evolver Desktop for some rather freaky sounding sequences. That said there are features in the OT sequencer I’d kill for in the MnM and vice versa.
Sorry I am not sure I get this.
I tried setting up parts to initialise pattern change and it does send but it sends late to the A4. The A4 receives the message after the OT has already changed and then changes on the following cycle of the step sequencer.
Program Change is indeed very confusing, maybe we should put together a PDF for all the variations…

Is very simple actually.
Per pattern program change is send two steps before the pattern changes, that’s why it works for pattern changes.
Per part program change is sent after the pattern changes, that’s why it is not suitable for pattern program changes.
