Midi Section -> Pickup Machine Puzzle

So if you’re on the midi page and selecting a track for a midi input, do the pickup machine buttons still work for looping controls on that same channel on the audio page? It seems so but I wanted to clarify as I’m puzzling on the best way to use my key step with 2 synths, while having pickup machine controls available to me, without resorting to a controller or a pedal.

I attempted a search on this to no avail, perhaps my wording is off

Key Step is a controller no?
Can’t use it too for that purpose?
(Maybe you’re using all notes / footswiches)

I can make a test in a few minutes.
Edit : done. Doesn’t seem to work…
With midi loopback you can use midi tracks.
