Midi question

Hi
Can you send midi from Ableton to the midi tracks on Digitakt and pass it on to a synth with midi cable using overbridge?
Here is what I have been trying to do with no luck.

midi tack in Ableton on midi 9 ->usb (overrbridge connection)-> Digitakt midi track A ->midi cable-> volca fm on midi channel 1

I have made it so midi track A receives midi on channel 9 and outputs to channel 1.

I am a total beginner to synths and midi so I’m wondering if this possible to do? Or I’m I trying to do something that can’t be done?

I think what you are wanting to do is use the midi through on the Digitakt. Send midi to the Digitakt, and run your cable from midi through to whatever you are wanting to send midi to.

Unfortunately, The dt does not function as a usb to din midi interface.
