MIDI pitch/mod wheel to CV

Hello all,

I hooked up my USB keyboard to my A4 (with help from @avantronica - thanks!) the other day and I was suprised to see that there are no pitch or mod wheel options in the ‘sound’ menu for CV tracks.

I get that the mod destinations would be fewer, but given that the A4’s internal bends and LFOs can be sent to CV already, it doesn’t seem like it would be difficult to the same with incoming MIDI wheel data? It would be so good to have my mod wheel control the depth of a pitch LFO for example.

Have I missed something?

Cheers.

First post here, I’m going through the recent threads, bought my A4 two weeks ago.

Anyways… Late reply but here it goes:

While the missing mod wheel mapping on the cv track is indeed a weird omission and would be nice in a future update, you can work around this using a performance macro and mapping your mod wheel to send the appropriate CC message (3,4,8 and so on… look for the mappings in the manual - any channel works for these). If your controller can’t remap the mod wheel one of these is the default cc message for a foot controller (3 or 4 IIRC), so this could be an alternative.

Earlier today I was messing around with cv envelope parameters mapped that way to the mod wheel, sliders, and a foot controller of an old Elka keyboard, worked great.
