Hello world, I am using a ground control pro to send program change & CC --> midi in to Digitakt --> and then midi out to a midi solutions quadra thru splitting off to midi in of a number of devices and effects on different midi channels. The problem is that Digitakt seems to cancel any information not directed at itself. None of the other boxes are receiving information.
Is there a better way?
It may depend on what kind of information you want to send, and whether you want the Digitakt to sequence the other gear.
If you set the Ground Control Pro to the same MIDI channel number as the DT’s auto channel, then when you select a MIDI sequencer track on the DT the DT will pass the MIDI messages to the other gear if set to the correct channel.
If you DON’T want the DT to sequence the other gear, then you could put the Quadra Thru between the GCP and the DT and connect the other gear to the Quadra Thru.
Not really interested in Digitakt controlling other gear but it would be nice to have the option. Is there no way for Digitakt’s midi outs to work as both output and thru?
Yes. Use the DT’s autochannel feature as I described above.
