Hi everyone. My first topic, sorry if I missed same problem searching here.
Let me ask a question about Octatrack midi out events
Currently I use OT with 1.25b. When I’m in mixer mode triggering mute/unmute audio track I get something strange in my MidiOX input monitor (I use midi to usb interface to wire OT with pc).
- all channels are off
- unmute audio.channel.2
- mute audio.channel.2
- repeat step 2 and 3 several times
MidiOX input monitor:
Timestamp IN Port Status Data1 Data2 Chan Note Event
00144648 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
00144889 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
00144C6A 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
00144E6C 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
00145295 11 – 90 31 00 1 C# 3 Note Off
00145481 11 – B1 31 01 2 — Control Change
00145869 11 – 90 31 00 1 C# 3 Note Off
00145A1C 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
00145E95 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
00146036 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
00146492 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
00146675 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
0014A36E 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
0014A41E 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
0014A641 11 – 90 31 00 1 C# 3 Note Off
0014A6F7 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
0014A8C2 11 – 90 31 00 1 C# 3 Note Off
0014A97A 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
0014AB27 11 – B1 31 00 2 — Control Change
So pressing button I recieve from OT different types of messages: Note on|off and CC. Another strange thing is when I recieved Note On message and then just pressing T2, T3 … T8 I recieve only CC events:
0014ABD6 11 – 90 31 01 1 C# 3 Note On
001547DE 11 – B2 31 00 3 — Control Change
00154954 11 – B3 31 00 4 — Control Change
00154AE0 11 – B4 31 00 5 — Control Change
00154C68 11 – B5 31 00 6 — Control Change
00154E16 11 – B6 31 00 7 — Control Change
00154FB0 11 – B7 31 00 8 — Control Change
00155181 11 – B1 70 00 2 — Control Change
Is it any way to get exact logic for these events to synch OT with my Lemur interface?
cheese
Another issue are track trig events, I recieve Note On events on correct channel, but Note Off are always on channel#1
0027CD2A 11 – 91 19 7F 2 C# 1 Note On
0027CDA7 11 – 90 19 00 1 C# 1 Note Off
0027D05A 11 – 92 1A 7F 3 D 1 Note On
0027D0B4 11 – 90 1A 00 1 D 1 Note Off
I get exactly the CC messages (only) prescribed to be sent in the appendix C-2
so it’s CC 49 for the respective midi channel - value 0>1 (where 1 mutes) for sampler tracks
and CC 112>119 for the midi tracks
Note messages do not come into it !
If i understand q correctly !
for me the correct channel is used for note offs- check your usb device !
out of interest - are you virtual or real Lemur ?
I’m hoping to add to the virtual lemur templates i have got started
i’m using Midi Monitor on a Mac btw
Thank you for your replies, let me check another config and be back with clarifications
I’ve changed midi-usb cable, but nothing has changed
Could you try to press same button (B) in mixer menu several times (lets say 10-15 times per 2-3 sec)? Nothing changed to you also? Only CC?

Are you sure you are pressing track trigs in audio mode? Sorry for silly question
Regarding lemur - I’m not sure I got you correctly. I’m configuring Lemur iOS app for my iPad
yep !!
Exactly as it should be from the Midi ref >

yep, quit strange
and what about quick multiple pressing T2[B] in mixer mode?
thanks a lot, mate!
and last question. do you use midi-midi cable to monitor event or midi-usb?
monitoring via OT DIN Midi>USB cable plugged into Mac
i tested with a similar product i have too
i wouldn’t recommend the ESI one though fwiw - it is too clever for its own good as it tries to auto detect - i get an issue or two with one of its ports, but the other is solid, the other mid-price one i have is not so savvy with sysex - so i’m looking to get a proper quality one to avoid all headaches - probably an m-audio one, all the m-audio (midiman) midi stuff i have has been perfect, always !!
