Digitakt II, running Overbridge and Ableton Live 12 Suite.
Adding a 4/4 kick and aligning it with the metronome in Live, I hear it’s in sync.
Now to the issue, adding a midi machine on a track in DTII and sending it to a midi track in Ableton with for example a stock synth like Analog, there is a delay between the kick, metronome vs the midi trigger. Am I missing a setting somewhere or routing it wrong? OR, is this something that is an issue?
What I want to achieve:
Use the sequencer in DTII to run DTII and some plugins
Hey, unfortunately I don’t have any specific advice but just from reading a lot of posts on here it seems like this is a pretty common issue with all hardware, not just digitakt II.
Looks like there are quite a few similar threads in the search if you enter a few relevant keywords.
This is regarding Digitakt 1, but still relevant so you might want to see if the settings @davestasiuk shared in this older thread regarding DT and ableton latency (which he said were working for him) will help or are in any way different than what you have set up now.
Also check out the original post in that topic, most of it is right in line with what you’re describing. I don’t really use ableton as part of my normal workflow but there seems to be a pretty common theme of hardware and software experiencing latency. I’ve seen some people recommend using ableton’s clock vs the digitakt’s clock, then other people state the exact opposite so there is no decisive fix that I’m aware of.
You may just have to try a few things until you see some positive results. I’m sure someone else will chime in though, so good luck with your issue and I hope you can get it working smoothly.
Thank you! I did try to search first but found mostly about recording/sending midi from ableton etc. Appreciate you could find it. I’ll read up and try!
