MIDI keyboard & Analog Four

Hello

I’ve try to connect A4 with my nord modular to play midi with the nord to A4.
please if anyone can say to me how can i do it.

i’ve tried like this but it didnt work.
from nord midi In to A4 midi Out.
something else or its wrong?

Try the other way - Nord midi out, A4 midi in. You wanna send midi notes to the A4 so you have to connect it to midi in there…and make sure receive midi is activated under global settings.

afaik the original nord modular does not send note out, just cc

I’m going to guess that you wrote a typo and meant Nord MIDI out to A4 MIDI in. If not then I suggest googling something like “MIDI 101 tutorial” to get the basics of MIDI down (in, out, thru, and the concept of channels)

On the A4 you’ll want to go to the “MIDI CHANNELS” section on the “Global Menu”.

You’ll want to configure the A4 to receive notes from MIDI, which you can do under the “MIDI Port Config” section.

There is a selection called “INPUT FROM” and you’ll want to select either

[li]MIDI[/li]
[li]or MIDI+USB[/li]
[/ul]

Next you’ll want to go to the “MIDI CHANNELS” section.

The A4 can receive midi on multiple MIDI channels but what you probably want is set your Nord keyboard’s output channel to be the same as the A4’s “AUTO CHANNEL”, which is the channel that:

AUTO CHANNEL selects the MIDI channel that will give access to the currently active track. If an external MIDI keyboard connected to the Analog Four sends MIDI data on this channel, the keyboard will control the active track. This is useful when for example quickly changing between the active synth tracks to play different Sounds.

So, for instance, if your Nord outputs midi on channel 10, you’ll want to ensure that the A4’s AUTO CHANNEL is set to channel 10.

All of this information is in the A4’s manual under the GLOBAL MENU → MIDI CONFIG section.
