So I could use some help on the best way to connect my gear together. I used to have a fairly complex MIDI studio in the 90’s and used to know this stuff but I haven’t touched a synth for 15 years so the knowledge has gone, definitely a case of ‘use it or lose it’!
I have a Machinedrum and MPC1000 and plan to add an Analog Four in the next month or so.
So I want to be able to play the MPC and Analog Four from a Master keyboard and also play/sequence a Juno 6 and Moog Source (both have MIDI retrofits) from the MPC. I only have access to the Juno and Moog 2-3 days a month when the commercial studio I run has downtime.
I thought Analog Four as Master with the master keyboard connected to the MIDI in and then the MIDI out and Thru connected to the 2 x MIDI ins of the MPC, receiving clock from the Out and master keyboard from the Thru.
Then one MIDI out of the MPC to Juno 6 and the other MIDI out to the Machinedrum (clock) and from the Machinedrum Thru to the Moog Source.
Am I way out with my thinking?
Is this the best way to do it, is there a better way?
