If you have an iOS device, I recommend MidiSynthControl. It’s 100x quicker than components. There’s an IAP for the launchcontrolXL, but has a few day demo.

On the WEB you can find Novation Launch Control XL for Windows, but for Mac there is nowhere today, so I wrote about it here. Does anyone have a copy of the installation file of “Novation Launch Control XL editor” ? I hate it when manufacturers remove links to download previous software products for their devices from free access! Maybe it’s because they are degrading and not developing like the rest of us. Do you believe that we are descended from monkeys?

Yeah its annoying when they do that! Should leave us the option!
In case you want a little work around, if you use a sysex program, and modify the 7th byte (set it between 00 and 07), then send it to your LCXL, it’ll go into the relevant User page.
It’s worth learning, because you can then copy-paste multiple pages into one sysex file. Then you can change all 8 User pages with one click!
It does though.
There are 2 Components!
One is online, the other standalone.
Are you using the standalone?
It has to download and install first etc.
What are you showing me here?

Maybe you could try reinstalling it, is it connected directly (instead of USB hub), try a different USB lead etc.
All I can tell you is, I have a Mac M1 on Monterey 12.6.2, I use the standalone Components daily for many different devices, I can send user templates whether or not I am online.
Logically, it would make zero sense for Novation to make a standalone version of Components, then insist you need to be online to use it!

Funny you mentioned this, as I just downloaded this and started the trial for the Digitakt functionality, LaunchPad and Control XL. I tried to get DT to communicate with the app and it won’t work - I’ve used apps with Elektron devices before and never had issues.
Have you used it successfully with DT?
Will try the Novation stuff later today.

Hello there diguiser,
Novation Components is indeed available online but also as a totally stand-alone application.
No internet is required to use Components standalone (once its been downloaded and installed of course).
You can log in to your account and store templates in the online cloud which is a nice convenience if you want to use it that way or if you prefer you can just use the save button and select “download” to store your templates locally on the computer.
The red light in the right top corner that says “not connected” means simply that the LCXL is not plugged into the computer and therefore references that the hardware is not connected. It doesn’t have any reference to internet connection. If you click on the ‘not connected’ button it should also give you a message to say this.
If your LCXL is physically plugged in and the red light stays on and continues to say not connected. I’d first recommend checking your USB cable and then if the problem persists contact Novation Support and they will help you out.

Wow, amazed that my post was flagged!

The Launchpads have had some great updates which have made a huge difference to me, Global Channel, Keystrokes, updates to the editor like multiple copy-pasting, undo, and more.

no that’s not true! you speak like a marketer. the red light may be on if you run the “components” program offline, then the program does not detect your device even if it is plugged in with a USB cable!!! In order for the “components” program to determine the connected device “novation”, it needs an Internet connection when it starts up, or there will be such a picture ->
but if the program is running correctly, then without turning it off you can use it without the Internet !!! but the first time you need to run the program while online !!! and if I don’t have the Internet and I recently reloaded my laptop, then without the Internet I won’t be able to edit and immediately upload the finished template to the controller

, I asked for a link, because in the technical support of “novation” they don’t give me a link either, but only try to explain something. And on the box, in general, it is written that in the kit when registering “editor” and not “components”
