I have ableton running my OT

I noticed that I am getting spurious midi control that I don’t want.

Record for track 4 keeps going on and off. I’m not using track 4 so I tried ignore it and make music, but I am having other problems…

I am trying to adjust slices while they are playing. As I try to choose what slice I am selecting in the AED window things are moving around on their own so that I cannot modify a slice of my choosing. I assume this is because of the midi info coming through.

I really just want ableton to send clock and transport and leave everything else alone midi wise and get the ghosts out of the machine

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Thank you

What are you using to send MIDI data from Ableton to your OT? An audio interface?

You could either find a way to filter out unwanted MIDI data or go into the OT’s settings and prevent it from receiving CCs.

See page 39 of the OT manual.

Definitely read that page of the manual. In addition, have that manual handy at all times. It’s free.

Do you use Follow TM or Map Track to trigger slices from ABL ?

…Edit slices on another track sharing same slot, but not triggered by ABL. Save settings eventually. Not sure if it would work…

Thank you! I am using my audio interface. I have a midi thru and there is data on various channels intended for my other instruments.

I’ll review p.39 as all of you are saying and see where it gets me

No, I am not intending to trigger the slices via ableton. Just directly on the OT via it’s sequencer.

I’ll review p. 39 and report back if im still riding the struggle bus

Thank you!

proj > midi > control > deselect ‘audio cc in’
proj > midi > control > deselect ‘audio note in’
proj > midi > channels > turn all channels off by arrowing right or left (maybe func + arrow ? not in front of the octa atm)
proj > midi > sync > TRANSP set to receive
proj > midi > sync > SYNC set to receive

Awesome, will do when I get home

This suffice. No need to deselect CC and Note In in that case.
It also prevent OT from sending messages with audio tracks knobs/buttons.

This was the perfect answer! Never realized I could turn those values to off in the menu. Learn something new every day. Thanks so much!!
