Yo, cool releases! Here are some of my thoughts.
I listened through Silver Dots at first, because typically I like rhythms better. The tracks got a sweet subtle groove, sometimes a bit sparse. The percussion felt a bit too clicky and precise at times, but I guess that’s a matter of taste.
But man, Foehn caught me a little off guard! From your description I thought it would be more of an ambient drone exploration type of thing, but oh wow did I not expect it to have all those sweet patterns and rhythmical shapes going on! The clickyness that bugged me about Silver Dots was rounded off in all the right fluffy ways, and it was sitting all so well together. Although the ambience chords were almost a bit too traditional sounding (?) at times, they still were working very well in the grand scheme of things. I liked Foehn iii best.
Hi, Lauli,
Thank you very much for the nice feedback, it’s much appreciated !
