Howdy everyone
I recently had a quick but extreme visit to the hospital and right when I got out, I recorded an album in 2 days time.
It came out more electronic than I was anticipating (was supposed to be more of a country record), but you know, you resign yourself to the process and let it lead its own way.
The whole thing was simply two-tracked to tape, mixed / effected through a small analog board before hitting my 1/4" machine with dbx noise reduction.
It’s a lot of machinedrum, but bits of other gear here and there including my trusty mpc 2kxl, some live instruments, some serious daw slicing, and some rain.
Thanks for listening.
ps. not technically ‘techno’ to the purist, but covers a range of sounds. I hope something speaks to yall.

pps. I am fine - happy as hell to be here. not walking on both feet or driving for two months, but should recover. if you are riding an exposed motor vehicle please wear a helmet no matter how short the trip!
Half the songs were jams I just needed to get to tape, the other half were conceived from scratch in that time period. Most of these were not originally country songs, I had another batch of songs to do but wound up doing these instead.
Yea I feel you on the hip hop - call it trip hop I think works well for many tracks.
Again thanks for listening and the support.
ps. I played the country stuff at the gig yesterday and it went well, so maybe we’ll see that hit the reels soon enough.
