Hi everyone, i just purchased a MD Mk1 and the power supply seems not to be working (at least i hope that is what’s wrong with it…). Has anybody got an idea where i could get a replacement (EU, preferably germany)?

hi redukt,

i suggest you open a new thread for your question.

where are you located? i am in berlin … unfortunatly I have a mk ii model, other wise you could try my power supply … i dont think they are the same but I may be mistaken

I think I need a new power supply. Did you test this model and did it work fine? Thanks

Yes, i still use it now - those are the MK1 specs.

Cool thanks, I’ve filled out their contact form. They don’t seem to have a store as such.

An excellent alternative power supply for the MK1 and the Octatrack is the iConnectivity iConnectMIDI2+ power supply.

It is bi-volt (110-220) and outputs 6v 3a, it also has a small footprint, and I found it in many places to buy as accessory.

Just check the plug type because I´m not sure about the MK1:

Sorry! Thought the MK1 was DC and it is AC

I do not think this will work as the MK1 uses an AC/AC power supply.

Thanks for point it out.

Hi!
I am looking for a PSU for a machinedrum mk1.
It gives 6V AC and 2.5 A which is more or less impossible to find anywhere.
I am based in Germany and would be happy if anyone could give me a hint where to get this.
Cheers!

Send elektron a support ticket they will sell you one.

I doubt that Elektron has had any power supplies for Mk 1 instruments for several years.

Thanks for the link. unfortunately it adds lots of money to post to europe. The mk1 isnt the best thing anyway and before spending 70 euro I probably use the ipad with modstep and elastic drums. My PSU is working but it is burried behind lots of furniture and other cables in my studio setup. wanted to have a small live setup and need the machinedrum mainly for sequencing the minitaur (as cv gate sucks from the a4) but I suppose the ipad can handle this.
Maybe they will release an octatrack 2 at one point - till then I am fine I guess. Would be nice to have a second psu but not for that money… .

Maybe search for this on other sites like amazon.co.uk or .de

Just opened the machinedrum MK1 psu and there is just a simple tranformator inside. So as it seems the current isn’t stabilized. I will look for a suitable replacement but making the psu myself should be way cheaper than buying one of ebay or amazon for 50 euros.
