Matching Reverb Settings

Hello, elektronauts

My current set up is Nord Wave (choir sounds, pads, pianos, strings) + DT (bass and drums) and I find it difficult to match reverb setting on different units. I prefer to have all the sounds in the same space with different amount of reverb like you would do with a mixer and reverb send.

How do you solve this issue? Any tips and tricks?
As far as I know you can use snare reverb as a reference point. Now I’m struggling especially with pads and other long decay sounds.

P.S. 1) I know about OB. I’m speaking about DAWless/portable set up.
2) I’m planning to buy DN (since DT and DN share the same reverb) and use its inputs with Nord Wave, but for now I would like to find a way out.
3) It would be awesome to hear your examples (synth (poly preferably) with reverb + DT )

I’m not familiar with the reverb of the Nord Wave. But I suppose unless the algorithms are very similar, it’s hard to match the feel of the reverb just by the standard parameters - decay, pre-delay, eq, etc.

You could go the other way and really “use” the difference of the reverbs. I find the Digitakt has a nice long room type of sound. For short plate type reverbs I use my other effect units. Some sounds just don’t go well with long reverb tails and vice versa.
Apparently it’s even somewhat common to have a small and a large reverb when mixing.
