Master Level Amount

Dear Elektrons,

yesterday my Rytm Baby arrived
Maybe i miss something or someone can open my eyes.
Where i can see the amount from the Master Level?

Thank you for your help.

All the best,

waldemaR

i think it’s “vol” on the “comp” page

Dear maass,

thank you. will check.

All the best,

waldemaR

Sorry, no it isn’t.

Any other idea?

Thank you.

All the best,

waldemaR

waldemaR, the answer on page compressor find

Why do you think it’s not?

Hmm, but maybe you’re right, it’s just the last Volume control. So, the Master Volume should be the big knob which is labeled, Master Volume. :imp:

Dear All,

thank you for the help.

Sorry maybe i’m stupid or have tomatoes in my eyes, but i don’t see for master volume when i move the knob in the screen the value.
I go completely through all.
My OS Version 1.02F

Thank you once again for your help.

waldemaR

Maybe there was a misunderstanding.

Are you looking for a digital, numerical value for the master volume knob? Because that doesn’t exist. you’ll have to go based on the dot on the knob.

Yes xidnpnlss, thats what i’m looking for.

What is the reason?

I mean OT have this the other Machines i don’t know.

All the best,

waldemaR

I dont know the OT but there may be a reason Specific to the OT.

FWIW I almost always leave mine all the way up (definitely when recording). I think that way you’ll have an idea of the whole dynamic of the mix.

Mine now is on three o’clock.
Only that i have headroom

All the best,

waldemaR

I’m new to mixing so forgive any stupid questions/assumptions.

  • can’t you use your input level to create headroom?

  • or, how i do it, use the track level and volume in the amp page to mix. otherwise variations in velocity and accent can be lost, or not given as much strength. That’s my thinking, anyway.

Der xidnpnlss,

with the headroom i make a joke, sorry that i confused.

But of course i would not drive the volume knob to the limit, no one of them.
I either don’t know how i will handle this. I start in the moment with 85% with the volume.

All the best,

waldemaR

Again, new at these things so forgive the stupid question…

But I’ve never understood exactly why one wouldn’t leave the VOL on the AMP page all the way up ( or any VCA level, for example). I understand why not turning all the way up the synth and sample level…but not VOL on the AMP. Especially when recoding from the individual outs, why not put the VOL and track level all the way up and adjust the input level accordingly?

Could you or anyone shed some light on this?

It is about the routing of the sound.
Example of only synthesis, no sample:
Voice one: If you turn down level on the synth page of your voice, the created sound will be lower in volume and go with that volume through the filter. = soft filter response or behaviour. Then on the Amp page volume all the way up, the resuling sound has the desired high volume.
Voice two: The volume level on the synth page all the way up, so the sound goes very loud into the filter. Because the filter is analog it responds now a bit different. Then on the amp page lower volume to have the same desired volume as the first sound.
At least in my theory (did not try it out yet) both sounds should sound different from each other. Thank you for that question, I will definetely try this out tonight!

Thanks for the answer. I’ll try it too when i can find a second. So, what, you’re think of using identical machines/parameters on two separate voices and adjusting the different volumes?
