Master Keyboard for multiple machines question. (Solved)

I’d like to have one master midi keyboard to control my elektron machines and maybe a xoxbox too.

At the minute I play notes on the OT from a simple usb midi keyboard (lpk25) through ableton live.

I can play notes on the OT fine. I route the “midi out” of the OT into “midi in” of the MD, then out via “thru” ports into first the MnM then the Xox at the end of the chain.

The problem with getting notes to the MnM and Xox from here stems from the connection between the OT and MD. This is not a “thru” connection to echo the initial midi signal sent to the OT so I cannot pass midi from the keyboard thru the OT into the other two boxes.

I was wondering if my only option is to use a midi merge devices here to merge the midi “out” and “thru” from the OT into one port, the midi “in” of the MD?.. or is there a more basic method that I’m missing here?

Would appreciate any tips.

Problem Solved:
I just came across this post by newgreyarea in an older thread and this is what I went with. Works just fine:)

Set your OT Auto MIDI Channel to whatever channel the Q49 is set to. Set up a MIDI sequencer track assigned to the MIDI channel of the Tempest and another to the MIDI channel of the Slim Phatty. Then whenever you select those tracks the OT spits the messages from your Q49 to your other gear.
