Maschine MK3, Digitone, Ableton Live

Hi there, i want to share a quick question through my expierences i used to have lately.

I use the Maschine MK3 as a Plugin in Ableton Live. Routing sounds into Ableton mainly the Drum Synths. I use an external Audio Interface, where i connected the Audio to Digitone. The Digitone goes via MIDI Cable into the Maschine. Without using Overbridge Plugin.

Its no Problem when i use Maschine as an Standalone with its Software to play the four Tracks of the DN in the MK3.

But i want to Digitone through Maschine in Ableton.

Is there any expierence, besides the fact that is a bit of a complicating setup?

Not sure what you’re wanting to do exactly, can you explain?

If i try to use the DN in Ableton, i could do it a couple of ways, for sure. I found like three or four threats on this topic. Here are two.

Digitone overbridge and ableton

Are you using the Digitone as direct Audio device or is it connected via an Audio Interface? When you switch to ASIO in Ableton, you need to select the Audio interface (either dedicated one or the Digitone if you don’t have one), then you have to go into the channel config and enable to Inputs/Outputs. [image] Also on the tracks themselves, you have to activate them selecting the correct channels and set the parameter from AUTO to IN.

Control external gear via Maschine MK3 in the DAW

Here is how is set up Maschine in Ableton (Drum Synths).

My Goal is to treat DN in Maschine and setting it up like this. The thing is i cant really receive MIDI from DN while having Maschine running as a Plugin in Live.

I tried it via a Instrument Rack having four External Instruments in it each one, for a Track in DN. But poorly failed.

Sorry, still not sure I understand exactly what you’re wanting to do. Hopefully someone with better knowledge of combining Elektrons/Maschine/Ableton can be helpful.

I use all three, but I also don’t really understand what you’re trying to do?
You want to use maschine as plugin in ableton and use the midi out from maschine to sync/sequence the digitone? Or do you want to send midi from the digitone to maschine?

Yes, I try to sync and sequence the Digitone in Maschine running as Plugin Instance in Ableton.
