Yeah, it is pretty well built in general. Fader issues can happen with any device after a few years, it’s working fine other than that one issue. I’m really not sure what it is but two techs have passed on it, when I feel like it’s possibly something I could even manage myself with enough patience.
Bummer this company went out of business.
Extra bummer cuz it was a local company for me.
I almost sold mine to fund a second Monomachine but after testing it decided it had to stay. Fantastic synth! I’m curious does anybody here have 1.3b firmware saved and can share it? Mine is on 1.20 which is great but would be nice to have the latest OS.
just searched my mac but all i came up with was the manual
I am also searching the file to update my manther in 1.3b and the user manual, i only had found the 1.0 manual…
my manther is gone anyway - as much as i loved it i had to choose between desk space for one synth voice or four and four won…
Guess their site’s finally gone dark so? Here for anyone who needs it. Tried to upload to the thread but the file was too big.
I love the Manther, big fan since its release. Very flexible and super fun to jam on.
I would like to re-buy while they’re still (occasionally!) available. Lovely thing. I had a reshuffle and got a bit caught up in some shortcomings that I can overlook with hindsight.
Yeah, it sounds massive and pretty intuitive to program, got it hoping for a 101/202 equivalent but the wavefolder gives it a whole other thing. Really must try again to get that fader fixed - still been using it on and off but losing pulse width control is a massive downer.
Bummer that they shut down. My gen 1 voltage block died not long ago and I probably will not get a new one since they’re not around. They used to be really responsive too.
Trying to reflect on my issues…seeming lack of program changes…big volume drop on engaging resonance (not unusual I know but…). Otherwise loved it. Will get another I hope, had picked up a cheap Circuit Mono Station to tick a lot of the same boxes (for my needs anyway) and didn’t quite scratch that itch. That tuneable sub is quite unusual for a start!
this video sold me on the manther back in like 2021
unfortunately, i got covid as soon as i got this synth. so i felt miserable for like two weeks as i got acquainted with it. and i think that since i felt awful, my brain associated that synth with that physical feeling and it really caused me to hate it and i had to sell it
but i wish i didnt because it does seem very versatile. i love the plucky thinner wavefolded guitar-like sounds. it feels like a typhon or something like a microfreak/behringer grind could maybe get similar results. but i dont think there’s anything exactly like it. i was never able to get much out of it because i didnt have time to wrap my head around the entire interface to really dive deep into sound design. i do think that it seems extremely powerful and has a lot of sweet spots
Hi, do you still have a copy of the last firmware? It would be great of you could share. Many thanks!
I’ll have to see if I can upload this somewhere more permanent, but here it is.
Thank you!
No problem. It never occurred to me to zip the firmware, but here it is:
Manther-1.3beta.wav.zip (438.8 KB)
It really has that rad 202 vibe!
What was the final state of the MIDI implementation of this synth? Have CC’s ever been implemented?
no clue - i wish hadn’t sold my second one - it is really a unique sounding box
