Making sure it's an octatrack I need

Ah yeah, that’s probably why I went with a 64GB one at the time.

to add balance I went from a digitakt og to an octatrack and feel the opposite was true for me.

overall sound and FX are much more to my tastes from the octatrack.

to be clear , i talk about digitakt 2 from the start not the 1, of course going from octatrack to digitakt 1 would be too much of a downgrade for me ( stereo sampling is too good to be ignored !)

yeah totally fair enough and I thought you might be talking about the digitakt II, it would be cool to try one out sometime but I’m getting deep into octatrack.

it’s interesting as for me I have a similar experience as the comment above about things coming out very cohesive from the octatrack.

to each his own experience and instruments, octatrack has the same dynamics as the machinedrum ( a bit less maybe ) which is incredible if this is what you’re looking for. Apart from th pure sound the workflow and many many thing annoyed me on the octa ( audio cutting parts , and ± 12 semitones pitchbend to names the worst). the thing is that experience and knowledge you gain from the octa transpose very well when you switch to a digi machine and everything feels easy !

yes agreed and the inverse was true, moving from a digitakt to an octatrack I felt there were lots of transferables.

I don’t think think it’s incredible tbh - it sounds great to me!

I’m glad you found what works for you, I think the digitakt II looks like a lot of fun.

i think the only thing i may miss is crossfader , but thinking about adding a faderfox maybe

So, for anyone looking to do what i’m working on => better than buying EZ bot template, have a thorough look at his video in which he displays how he builds it from scratch : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbhvMajUM2I
Helped me figure out a lot of what I needed to know to beggin with the machine, and in 24h has me playing on my first own template

It’s good to do the work of setting up the machine yourself. How else are you truly going to learn it if you skip over the actual nuts and bolts by purchasing a premade template?
