Making a sample chains in OT?

Is it possible to make a sample chains using only OT?
Let say I have 8 recorded loops and would like to merge them.

You first may need to go to your memory settings and allot lots of memory to Track 1’s recording buffer.

Then load each of your 8 loops into each of the OT’s 8 tracks as static samples.

Then create a sequence in which each loop is played in full one after another. You could do this by creating 8 patterns in which each loop plays from start to finish per pattern. Then chain the patterns together, create an arrangement or manually change patterns during playback so that patterns 1 through to 8 are played in order.

Before pressing play, open Track 1’s recorder settings and place a recorder trigger on the first step of the first pattern. Set source as Main output. Set your length to the proper amount of steps if you can or just set it to max (in which case you’ll have to trim the ending of the recorded sample afterwards in audio editor).

Hit play and watch the little triangle record each of your loops in sequence. Once the recording begins I like to quickly remove the recorder trigger I just set off so as to ensure I don’t trigger it again by accident and overwrite my new sample.

Then go in to the audio editor and set your slice positions in flex recorder 1. If your loops are different lengths you will have to do the slicing manually but if they are all the same length (and you’ve properly trimmed your recording) they can be sliced with a grid.

Then save your sample. I think that covers it, I’m not beside my OT at the moment. It’s easier to make chains out of one shots on the OT because you can usually do it with one pattern and use the recorder length to ensure evenly distributed hits for grid slicing.

Thats a great tecnique .
I did it another way to make a snare drum chain.
Record some silence for maybe 1 bar,
load a loop in another slot and slice or trim (cant remember) a snare then copy that,
while still in audio editor, go to your track with the silence sample and paste in the snare,
then switch to another loop and repeat.
I think thats how I did it, but it worked great.
