Main Out...consolidate all to L or R?

Is there any way to route all of the OT out through a single main channel L/R out or do I need a Y to take both L & R down to a single stereo in? My OT is running the A & C out through the L and the B & D out through the R, any way to consolidate the outs within the OT or do I need a specific cable?

Sorry, I can’t really tell what you’re trying to do based on this message…

So you’re trying to run all the internal tracks and input audio signals to Main out? If so, that’s most definitely doable.

if you use thru machines it is possible.

are you just running them directly through?

try setting up some thru machines, or even just one, and play with the input settings.

Your use of ā€œinā€ and ā€œoutā€ is quite confusing. Do you mean that you want to route all of the OT inputs through a single output?

If so, yes. You need to use a Thru machine on an audio track, select ā€˜A+B’ for the INAB parameter, and select ā€˜C+D’ for the INCD parameter.

But maybe I didn’t understand your question correctly.

Sorry for the confusion…to clarify: All my inputs are fine, 4 devices 1 input each, however I’m only using 1 of them in a thru track, the rest are just routing in unaffected. By default the Octatrack is routing inputs A & C to Main Out L and inputs B & D to Main Out R.

So my question is there a way to route all inputs (ABCD) to a single Main Out (either L or R) or do I have to use both of the Main Outs ( L&R)?

Yes. You need to use a Thru machine on an audio track, select ā€˜A+B’ for the INAB parameter, and select ā€˜C+D’ for the INCD parameter. Then use BAL to the track to the Left or Right output.

Was hoping there was another way besides thru machines, but looks like it’s time to get a mixer.

Thanks for the help!
