BUT it’s only available if you buy the speaker that it comes with lmao. Here I thought I finally found a portable mixer that can compete with the TE TX-6.
I just don’t understand how a simple product that is clearly in demand is so hard to produce. Frustrating
What’s absolutely wild to me is Mackie is a mixer company, like they should have a huge line of battery powered mixers. Instead they have one mixer with a compartment for a power bank.
What’s a guy gotta do to get a decent battery powered mixer!?
Worse, it’s little more than a remote control, connected to the speaker (where all the actual mixer circuitry resides) by what looks like CAT5 networking cable.
a standalone version would be great for those looking for compact mixer, having 1/4” and xlr cables would be great in such compact form, functionality is looking good too, some fx, eq, recording… after tr6s I don’t think I’d want the individual channels to be hidden behind a button, so for example if I want to bring up volumes of two channels together looks like I’d have to switch between them constantly which is counterintuitive for me but otherwise for set and forget it’s pretty great.
I tend to disagree - there is an important market (and growing offer) for battery-powered sound reinforcement for small acoustic bands, busking, etc. - eg. for one singer with guitar, bass, cajon this looks perfect. And having the mixer interface detachable is nice (and an alternative to mixing on a phone app).
But then you would have to learn the workflow of a device only for live shows etc. whereas most people already have a mixer that they’re use to, and probably already own speakers. I mean sure if you are looking for both it would be an easy solution, I just think it would have been nice to offer the standalone mixer so your not going back and fourth.
I’m surprised that Elektron has not made a Digi size box for mixing the Digitakt, Digiton and Syntakt. They could do a lot with it. MIDI hub, MIDI synced effects. Master filter. Soft clipping.
