@MatthewAllen appears to be referring to the Map Editor capabilities of the MD, described on pages 59 and 60 of the manual. The default note map is given on page B-1.

Surely there must be some new tips to share now with the unofficial firmware released.
I love having the option for a compressor only on a given track now, and playing with the universal comb filter is something else - otherworldly sounds. But what I actually use the most in the new firmware, is the envelope neighbour. It makes the MachineDrum so much more capable as a synth.

I just found a tip to make slow lfo (using a triangle wave for example). The minimum speed is 1 which is equivalent to an lfo that runs over 4 lengths. But by setting the speed to 0, and using an lfo on another track to assign it to the speed of this first lfo, it is possible to slow it down by setting the depth to 1 and the speed as you wish. This will ensure that the speed of the first lfo varies between 0 and 1, which will allow it to slow down and arrive at an lfo that runs on 8 lengths and not 4.
Also it is possible to make a flanger with the latest update that adds NFX. By using the NFX of the comb filters, and putting a triangle lfo on one of the two times, or one on each, it will make the same sound as a flanger. Add filter, resonance and effects and enjoy

I just figured out a workaround for the step length limit on the Machinedrum MK1. This will work for most, if not all, other Elektron boxes as well.
Everyone knows you can chain patterns together in song mode to make a longer sequence, but the problem with this is that the pattern switches over while your working on it.
A workaround for that is you choose a track you want to span more than the scale limit (for the MD thatâs 32 steps) then copy it over to another track, then you can use the mutes in song mode to toggle between the two tracks.
For the first line of the song you mute the second track and play the first, this would be the first half of the phrase or whatever your playing, then on the second line you mute the first track and unmute the second to play the second half. You can then leave song mode running in the background while you edit the pattern. The mutes on your double track will follow the song but everything else will work like normal.
Each time you duplicate a track you add 32 steps to your scale limit. It works particularly well with the MD because it has so many tracks.

Iâve been trying to figure out a way to control the midi mutes on my A4 from my MD in song mode, without having to go into the pattern itself. I wonder if a little midi box like this will help with that.
Probably better to use MD midi machines and CCsâŚ
