Just reading through the release notes. I’m going to have to print it out and tape it to the wall above my desk
WOW… If you read the release notes, it’s even more impressive.
This is a significant update for the Machinedrum. A lot of work. Thanks Justin!!! Will this affect users with MCL? It already adds a second LFO. Will the new machines be supported out of the box, or should we expect some adjustments to the MCL as well? I’d like to try out the new update with my MK2 non-UW + MCL.
Woah you cooked. Epic. Will be getting my MD out for this
User machines? WTF!!!
Are these new synthesis engines?
@justinvaler Insanely goated… the new machines are crazy, many of the TX8 and TX9 are spot on and the TX81Z ones are fun – lately basssssssss
So hard to choose just 16
Is there documentation specifying what the parameters are for these machines? for some of the effects ones I’m a bit lost
I noticed on my end that when installing new machines there can be a bit of a glitch in the sound of other new machines until restarting (or reloading the kit might work too).
Very very exciting and impressive stuff. I hope that https://kitbasher.xyz/ can eventually be made compatible as I have been really enjoying so many of those machines too!
→ yes and more: synthesis (neighbor filters that also self-oscillate and synths), new neighbor effects (multiple distortions, chorus, ensemble?, +), some new compressors), and a ton of 808 and 909 synthesis emulations, a handful of impressive and surprising physical modeling melodic bits (piano, epiano, string, + more) and some TX81Z emulations
Yeah I just read the full notes, there’s a lot in there…
And seriously, conditional P-Locks ? A dream comes true.
Installing right now.
Where do you find these user machines ?
EDIT : included in the download.
Kickstarter suggestion:
A ‘Machinedrum shell’
Some sort of NUC or mini-pc in a Machinedrum shaped enclosure with screen, buttons, dials, io etc
User supplies emulator + this firmware
Hot cakes anyone?
Is there a general reference on what all these new machines are?
I don’t see one anywhere on the github – here are my best guesses based on checking all of them out this morning. TX ones of course self-explanatory
Amazing, those synth filters are neighbour type effects? Can’t wait to install this.
Indeed and noticed that at least a few of them have a self-oscillating “ping” sound too when you bring the resonance up which can ofc be used as additional perc.
If there was any doubt, the MD is now clearly the greatest drum machine ever …
The new features are all absolutely jaw dropping and game changing.
However the individual track envelope is the biggest vibe change (imo):
Try 16 tracks of classic md percussion , splunged through the Dynamix for that hard sound we all know.
Then start tweaking the ENV ATTACK of each sound….
The way the transients start shifting/sucking is a new thing, and these grooves are something we could only achieve previously with externally routed tracks via gates etc.
Amaze amaze amaze. (I saw project hail
Mary last night)
Does a Control-All machine affect the new Env, LFO1 and LFO2 parameters?
Whaaat
Holy crap!!! Amazing
Wow Wow WOOOW! Did I really read correctly – this works without the Mega Command??? Fantastic! I can hardly believe it! Thanks so much Justin! ![]()
(off to install X.20) ![]()
Sounds so good – I always do this on the Digitone.
Well, so far…it just works so great !!!
EDIT : can’t seem to make RAM machines work ?
