Machinedrum SPS1-UW X.12 Released [ Unofficial ]

Hi! Ask the model, it explains everything perfectly.
Regarding sending data from any sequencer to md, it understands everything perfectly. The best part is writing long patterns using the knob movements from md itself, like modulation in DAW.

It failed this question : I want to add slow attack with an nfx machine to some polyphonic fm cowbells. How?

Which maybe the fault of the documentation. But also maybe the fault of the LLM coming to the first solution that made sense. Also my question prompt saying ā€œsomeā€ instead of more than 2 and not specifying mcl, it might have defaulted to simplest solution.

It’s ok people are using these tools. But the concern is if the buck stops with the answer without further human research. Don’t wholly trust ChatGPT. Yet.

Hi! MD can’t handle slow attacks. It’s a drum machine, after all. But it’s cool to record the knob with a wave and filter into an external sequencer. It gives you more control.

Yes, you might be right about the AI models. But it’s a great start and a great starting point. Perhaps, in the process of writing the question itself, an answer already comes, and the model confirms it or provides a path to its solutions. My head still hasn’t gone anywhere.

Fake news. Especially considering you trained the gpt with X firmware.

Has anyone been able to use Program Changes from an outside sequencer to change kits? I’m trying No Bank or Sub, just the Program Change. No luck so far, I was under the impression that 1-128 would change any pattern available.

Is it possible to have regular drum trigs send midi over mcl output 2? Or do I have to use the midi seq. I just want a copy of the drums live off the seq to trigger other things in my set up without re-programming a copy by hand. Thx

i’m not sure if it’s in fw 4.7.0 , but you can use MD MID tracks just like in OG extended (instead of the MCL EXT tracks), and these can forward through port 2.
if it’s not then it will be in next version.

Thanks yeh I’ve been using the MD MID tracks, they seem to forward through port 2 whether or not I ask them to in the midi settings.

It would be great if there was an option to allow any trig to be mapped or mirrored to a midi note going out of port 2 in a future fw version. Thx

What I usually do is changing patterns (and kits) when I change the pattern in the Octatrack. It works fluently and as soon as I change the pattern in the Octatrack, it changes in the MD. So, I’m not changing directly the kit but I have different kits in different patters, so it ends changing the kit as well. Sorry if it’s not the answer your were looking, it’s sort of a workaround. Maybe someone knows how to change kits without changing patterns

Are you changing patterns with a note? How are you using the Octotrack to trigger the pattern change patterns?
