Got a nice new MacBook (M1) but feel rather silly now.
I can´t get my Elektron gear (tried Digitone, Digitone Keys and Analog Heat) to connect with my Mac.
I installed Transfer but it can´t see my machines. My old 2015 MacBook does connect.
Also installed Overbridge but again, neither the standalone apps nor the plugin within Ableton does find my gear.
When I start and open the Overbridge Engine, it states "please go to Security and Privacy Settings and allow Overbridge Engine to install the system extension USB driver.
However, I cannot find those settings anywhere…
Also tried de- and reinstalling Overbridge without success.
This is the key. You need to go to OSX’s security settings. On that list of settings you will find a small bit of text stating something about Elektron overbridge. Click Allow.
(Apple menu → system settings → privacy & security)
I have the same problem when trying so setup overbridge on an M4 mac mini. Installed transfer and overbridge (multiple times, even with restarts inbetween). No success. Seems to be an issue with the 2.13.4 installer/version.
Just installed overbridge on an iMac M4/MacOS 15.0 Sequoia without any problems.
As @jemmons already mentioned, you have to activate the driver extension (prompted at the end of the installation process).
Go to system settings/General/login items there you will find the driver extensions - must be activated for overbridge.
Thanks, found the approval in the settings (login items).
Still, none of my machines connects to my Mac. Neither to transfer, nor to overbridge standalone or plugin.
Did you use the current version of Overbridge? Asking because @MaxP writes he also can’t get it to run with the current 2.13.4 version of overbridge.
Works for me on a MacBookPro M1 with Sonoma MacOS 14.7.1 and an iMac M4 with Sequoia MacOS 15.0.
How are your devices connected to the computer?
Are you using adaptors? Try different ones.
Are you using a hub? Try a direct connection to the computers usb-ports.
Uninstall overbridge, create a test user in system settings, restart and log in with test user and install overbridge.
I don`t think this really matters, but you also could set the security policy to „reduced security“.
Here is how you do that:
Are you still having problems ? I have a MacBook Pro M1 also running macOS Sequoia 15.1 and the Digitone works fine in Overbridge or even just as an Audio interface.
OK so after I did the last post. I took Overbridge off and then reinstalled it.
Then I found that the Digitone wouldn’t show up in the Overbridge Control Panel
When I clicked on the Electron logo in the menu on the top right it said update firmware for the Digitone. So I downloaded the latest version of Transfer and upgraded the Digitone to version 1.42
Excellent to hear! A full uninstall is always recommended as best practice. And yes, firmware should be checked for updates to map to the new OB settings.
