M8 Tracker (Part 1)

It’s crazy to think that I ordered one last Tuesday and it’s arrived on Friday. 3 days from USA to Europe! M8 model:02 is f*** awesome :sunglasses:

Damn…I ordered last Tuesday and still haven’t received it and I’m only two states away!

It ships by air to Europe and by ground in the US. Something about LiPo batteries. I tried reading about it and it hurt my head.

Wow, that means I could potentially get it this week :crossed_fingers:

Today I was weak.

I hope it comes before the holidays

Ordered on Tues for UK, showing missed delivery 3 days later on Friday and again today. Called them up, apparently they thought I hadn’t paid the import charges when I had. Hopefully should be with me tomorrow.

Did yours ship yet? I think they use UPS ground, which typically only takes a few days.

Thx Ya’ll!

Ordered!

Trackers were very popular when I grew up (I’m '84), but I never used it that much. I did make some songs in a tracker around 2002 but I’m completely blank when it comes to which it was. Tried looking at some lists of old trackers but nothing popped out. After that I went to Reason, then Live (v4-ish), then a big gap with no music, picking up Logic, then back to Live again, and now a lot of Elektron devices + some Live (but trying to stay off the laptop outside work).

I submitted a PR to add this amazing resource to awesome-m8: Add "The M8 Companion" to ## Documents by maxekman · Pull Request #13 · v3rm0n/awesome-m8 · GitHub

I don’t know how to keep it available for those who need it except to point to it when someone asks for help after a purchase, and I feel silly repeating myself (Discourse doesn’t help by chastizing me about reposting). It scrolls out of sight here and in the Resources channel on the Discord.

It should be pinned in the Discord help me channel

A link on that Github repo should at least help a little, better than nothing.

Dude, at 46 you were well growd up by the time the first tracker was made.

Um… wasn’t the first tracker written for the Amiga in 1987?

I suspect the humor lies in the ambiguity of the statement “I’m ‘84” being interpreted as “I’m 84 years old” vs “I was born in 1984.”

Math checks out. Sorry for being dense.
