(I don’t plan on repeating every beta release but this fixes a lot.)

Regarding the new ARC command if I’m reading Discord right then this is what the first digit does to the arpeggiator:

0 = UP
1 = DOWN
2 = UP/DN
3 = UP + 1 OCTAVE
4 = DOWN + 1 OCTAVE
5 = UP/DN + 1 OCTAVE
6 = UP + 2 OCTAVES
7 = DOWN + 2 OCTAVES
8 = UP/DN + 2 OCTAVES
9 = UP + 3 OCTAVES
A = DOWN + 3 OCTAVES
B = UP/DN + 3 OCTAVES
C = UP + 4 OCTAVES
D = DOWN + 4 OCTAVES
E = UP/DN + 4 OCTAVES
F = UP + 5 OCTAVES

The ARC command is great! Makes ARP so much more useful, I basically never used it before!

The new wavetables are amazing, as is the EQ.

Instrument pool is really great for getting a sense of your instruments, and also for keeping readable notes.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply otherwise. I gave a shipping address in CA. When I lived in the US, I learned about the patchwork nature of state sales taxes.

European VAT is high, but we moved to Europe in part for the kind of society it funds. But my jurisdiction adds import duties and bureaucratic delays, which discourage any ordering from outside the EU. We’ve also learned that many small retailers in the EU do not ship everywhere in the EU.

ZDF LP and EQ make for nice and easy bass tones. Short clip.

So basically how is Zdf different?

There was a short demo and explanation in the stream here:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2191019772?t=00h24m10s

It’s a different ā€˜flavor’ of filter.
It’s less resonant at low resonance values, and can be driven much higher at high values.

So, I have an M8 1st gen coming and I have an Oxi One. I sold most everything else. I was going to buy an ipad so I have something to sequence with my Oxi but thought, hey, I know you can use the M8 as an 8 channel multi timbral synth also.

So, was wondering if anyone designs some killer presets on those internal synths but sequences them occasionally with an external sequencer? I usually get tired of the clicky M8 workflow (I’ve had it twice before) but If i can sequence the internal stuff with the Oxi, that would make it a lot more palatable to keep it if I dont jive again with the workflow.

i used to use mine as a sound module from time to time, i mostly stuck around with the presets available from

Cool…thanks.

I can see a fun workflow of having my M8 at work. Lunchtime taking time to make some cool sounds. Home at night to sequence with my Oxi along with my Modular. Fun…I hope!

sounds like a great plan to me! im not much of a sound design guy so i never dove too deep on that front but considering what can be achieved with all the modulation possibilities now it seems like a solid use case

As @sleepside posted, the 4.0 firmware for M8 includes support for CONTROL SURFACE. Right now the only control surface that is implemented is the Novation Launchpad Pro Mk 3, but in the future, support could be added for other controllers, perhaps the OXI One.

I’ve never said this before, I can’t keep up with all these updates. As soon as I upload one, a new ones out. Talk about a great problem to have.

I do this every day. It’s the best! :smiley:

This little piece of kit brings so much joy… :brown_heart:

I’m not sure, but it seems to me that if you sequence the M8 from an external sequencer, you will lose much of what we love about the M8 - the tight integration of the sequencer and the built-in synth engines. Oxi is certainly a cool sequencer, but in my opinion, you lose a lot of things, for example, the ability to use different instruments at different steps within one track, the possibility of parameter locks, etc. I would probably sequence an iPad with Oxi, sample it into M8 and in M8 I would assemble the arrangement - slice the recorded material, assemble new patterns from the slices, add built-in instruments, do the mixing (thanks Tim for the equalizers!), etc.

As I said I really don’t like the massive clicking programming of the M8. I’ve sold it twice because of that. But at times I do love the portability of it. So when I don’t want to use it to sequence itself I just want to know if it’s good to use as a sound module.
