d16 Group LUSH-2

Updates include Apple Silicon support, redesigned oscillators and filters that eliminate aliasing, and probably some other stuff. Sounds like they’re intentionally moving away from 101 emulation towards being a more general-purpose layered softsynth:

Lush 2 isn’t based on just a single machine; it’s built from modules that can be found in many modern virtual synths, combined into one compact, logical layout.

It sounds pretty good and missed it when I changed over to Mac earlier this year.

Here’s my first track with it

It uses a couple of instances of Lush 2 along with an instance of Phoscyon 2 and samples used for the drums in Ableton.

Oooh.

I totally forgot about D16!! Been ages since using their stuff.

Just got Phosycon 2 on a decent price. Really like it. Now I’m considering this intro deal. They are well made and sound good to me.

I have Roland cloud now but it feels a bit costly if you mainly want the classics, so this would replace that. Guess they’ll upgrade the 809/909 soon enough to Apple silicone. And they are packed with features

Made a quick 101 + 808 noodle with the demo

Have the og, not worth the upgrade cost imho- maybe a good deal for anyone who doesn’t own it, but the upgrade adds very little.

Is this super CPU hungry on Apple Silicone, or is it just me?

The default patch causes a lot of crackles for me, when running my usual audio settings in Ableton (have to increase the buffer from 64mb to 256mb to get rid of the crackles)

v1 was always pretty hard on CPU, especially in poly mode (haven’t tried v2 tho)

Their support let me know that it’s best to disable Processing/Multi core on Apple Silicone computers, this solved the problem! The CPU usage is much better now.

How is that done? Sorry, I am new to Mac. Would be happy if anyone could tell me.

Another excuse for a sale soon.

Yeah :joy:

D16 offer LUSH2 right now for 69 bucks if you own something else like Drumazon2. I think that is a pretty neat price.

Still loving Lush 2. I use it as much as the Virus TI2, only it has way fewer presets so it’s not quite as much fun to run a sequencer into it and blindly find cool sounds. Thankfully it’s easy to program and of course, it sounds incredible.
