I ordered one exactly because of this. Full-sized keys with MPE in a no-frills compact package. We’ll see if action is actually any good.
As both a musician and a music teacher, I’m quite interested in the whole package.
But I’m gonna have to wait.
The lack of real-world reviews/tests and the oh-so-polished ads from Roli make me a bit wary. Price is a bit steep for what it does, but if it delivers flawlessly, then it’s an instant buy.
Very interested! Can someone make it clear for me. For the “chord” mode for example, does it illuminate the chords on the keyboard or does the software assign a chord to a key, and the key is illuminated?
I managed to get a couple Lumi’s for a bonkers price, so I’ve been messing with them, and it’s kinda wild - I’ve mostly seen negativity about them online, and who knows, they could stop working in any number of ways anytime, but after a week of pretty consistent use, I’ve got to say they’re really fun little controllers. Maybe I’d think differently if I’d paid full price, who knows. I think they really benefit from being used with the Roli software, including their Studio VST, which has a ton of presets specifically designed to be used with MPE.
It’s goofy and it gets pretty shrill at the end and I haven’t done any mixing at all, but I figured I’d share this little thing I made using bitwig, stock drums, and three different MPE presets from Roli Studio. It’s nobody’s best work but you can probably hear how much fun it is to wiggle the keys lol
