looks like I’m just sending one. how can i extract more sounds from the .syx file? it says 150 sounds in c6 but I’m only sending one.

I haven’t loaded this one yet. Does it show a whole list of patches in the C6 window? You may have to select them all (shift click on Windows, don’t have to do it one by one at least)

thats the thing - it doesn’t show a whole list of patches, just the .syx file. maybe i should redownload it!

and before you think i’m an idiot, i have downloaded all the other sound packs from electron - those itemize the sounds already. these two packs don’t!

I seem to have changed the slots somehow so that I can only load 1 sample, even when i select all of them.

I just loaded them, worked fine.
Did you select the +Drive for the destination? Did you actually click on the syx file in C6 so it is highlighted?

just to clear things up a bit … the sysex file is ONE file, which will cointain IIRC 128 sounds.

they cannot be individually loaded into the A4 ,

before sending the sysex file, you must specify in the A4 where you want those sounds to be saved … either POOL and I recommend after the POOL into a Sound Bank (use the sound manager) …or directly into a sound bank… this is confusing as fuck at the beginning (just like anything from elektron… can you guys imagine working there =? they must kill themselves at their friday afternoon meetings )

So why, when I try to download this sound pack and the Biopads, does the elektron site just send me to a page of text instead of a zip file like the rest? I have downloaded and transferred other packs without any problems.

looks like the same thing here. when i click on the link it just opens a new tab with, what looks like to me, the text version of the file. Anyone else have issues with this on Safari?

update: i was able to download both the low register and Biopads on Firefox, so it looks like the issue may be related to Safari or because my version of Safari is older.

Fine with Safari, here. Try this …

Instead of directly clicking on the link, popup a context menu and select ‘Download/Save linked file’.

and im also looking for them in my AK.

can someone please tell me the name of 1 patch so i can see if it installed well?

also i could not install it to a empty bank (001) and had to to use receive anything to make it work so now im looking for where they wr placed…

anybody had the same?

Sorry you’re having problems. I just tried and loaded them where I wanted with no problem. It is one sysex file (that contains 160 patches).

All patches start with “Bass” before them. Eg. Bass Evil Dub, Bass 808ish, Bass Tweaker, Bass FSOL…

On A4: Global --> Sysex Dump --> Sysex Receive --> receive any (or pick what you want, eg., you can dump to the bank B on the +Drive)). Hit yes and it should say “waiting data…”

On C6: drag and drop in .syx file. Click configure, select Elektron Analog Four as in and out. In the Sample Settings, check Use SDS handhake, Use Extended SDS, and Send SPS-1UW Name (actually, I dont even think this is needed for the A4, only for the RYTM, but it wont hurt). Click OK. Then click on that .syx file and hit “send.” All done!

EDIT: If that doesn’t work you probably dont have USB on in the global settings.

I don’t know which patches they used for the video but they’re all from the pack. All sounds are either meant to be played as bass (0 or -1 oct) or mid-high bass (0 or +1 oct with only very few +2, as demoed in the video).

BTW - I like very much your sounds - Bio Pads are excellent !!! Maybe I have little technical problem… Fo Example…When I’m playing with some presets (Low Register) some notes react with delay and this isn’t ADSR envelope…

Thanks! Do you mean there’s a delay from the keypress to hearing the sound? It depends on your setup but it could be one of these issues:

If you’re using a soundcard, it could be an external input delay/monitoring issue. I get this with my DAW and I have to setup compensation for it.
Some sounds have a slow attack, so it could be that?
If you’re using an external keyboard, could be a delay somewhere or connection issue?

Otherwise, I’m not sure :\
