Loud noise in Ableton when trying to receive MIDI clock from Digitakt

Not sure I’m doing this right, but I’ve got Digitakt connected to Ableton Live 10 using a USB cable.

My MIDI out on the Digitakt is going to my modular system, which is sending audio back into Ableton via my Focusrite Interface.

When I click the EXT button in Ableton, it seems to synch up with the Digitakt. But when I hit Record/Play on the DIgitakt I get an obnoxious noise.

My MIDI settings in Ableton look like this:

And I’ve got Clock Receive and Clock Send boxes ticked in the MIDI Sync settings on the Digitakt.

Help?

Figured it out. Just had to turn Clock Receive off in the Digitakt. Hahaha.

Hope this post lives to help any other poor souls figure it out.

Still getting lag in how long it takes to synch between stop and start. Takes a full 3-4 measures for Ableton to catch up with the clock on the Digitakt, which throws off any effects that are slaved to Ableton’s BPM.

Anybody encounter this?

Can you not lock the tempo in Ableton so it doesn’t have to count again every time it starts?
